I purchased a Seneo Fast Wireless charge stand, and last night used it for the first time. When I woke up this morning and removed my phone from the stand, I had a lock screen overlay with a big obnoxious "Audible" ad right in the middle of it. I had not gotten that previously when charging via USB-C cable, but I subsequently discovered that it would reappear when charging via USB as well.
I did a bit of research and discovered that this was caused by something called "SpeedCharge" that is installed with a number of freeware apps. There are a few lists of offending apps floating around the internet in various fora and blogs, but none of the ones I have installed are listed.
I've searched the list of running services in "Developer Options" but haven't found anything that looks like a possibility. I have (perhaps unfortunately) selected the option in the upper-right corner of the SpeedCharge screen that turns it off, though. While that has eliminated the obvious annoyance, it doesn't remove the adware from my phone or even prevent it from returning whenever the offending vendor wants it reactivated.
As I said, I have not installed much software on my new Note 7, and what I have installed doesn't appear on any of the SpeedCharge-infected lists I've come across so far. And now I'm not sure how I would go about figuring out where it came from given that I've turned it off.
Anyone else come across this?
