I try to check for updates about once a week, both here and at the t-mobile update page (http://ift.tt/28NYnia). As I'm sure you all know, as of today (06-22-2016), the note 4, note edge, and tab s2 are the only ones without an update. So today, I contacted t-mobile's chat support to see if they could offer any more information. Here is the transcript in its entirety. My initial question isn't there because I asked it when initiating the chat session, but it asked when the update would be available, since the rest of the samsung devices had been updated except for the three, and since other carriers had updated it as well:
Thought someone might be interested.

Aldrin B : Hi Dow! Aldrin B : I'm currently pulling up your account to further assist you about your concern. One moment please. You : Thanks. Aldrin B : Just to verify, can you please provide me your Account number please? You : Acct or phone? Phone is XXXXXXXXXX Aldrin B : Thanks! You : Acct. is XXXXXXXXX Aldrin B : Upon checking here in my end, the last version for the Note 4 is the Android version 5.1.1. So far there are still no updates about the OS of Samsung Note 4. No worries, once the update is available, you will receive notification about it. Aldrin B : Aside from this matter, are there anything else I can help you with? Aldrin B : I would be happy to assist you today; however, I'm afraid that if I don't hear from you, I will not be able to keep this chat open. You : Yeah, I'm aware of that, Aldrin. I'm just wondering if you could hunt around and see if anybody has a better guess than "someday." Your own update page (http://ift.tt/1D554Ub) shows it still being under Manufacturer development. You : however, the rest of the Samsung devices, with the exception of the note 4, note edge, and tab s2 have been at the completed stage for over a month. Also the other carriers have already pushed out their note 4 updates, as can be attested to by a friend of mine with Sprint, and another with ATT. Aldrin B : Actually, I have already encountered customers like you who wants to have the update on their Samsung Note 4. I really do apologize for the inconvenience. So far, we have no words yet from Samsung. But rest assured that once the update is available, you'll receive notification for it. You : Okay. Thanks for checking. Have a nice afternoon, Aldrin. Aldrin B : You too, Dow! Don't worry, I'll raise this issue up for you. Aldrin B : Thank you for contacting T-Mobile! This is Aldrin, have a great day :) You : Thanks! That'd be great. Aldrin B : Anything for our valued customer! |
