[APP][ROOT][Yureka Thermal Control][Gaming][Balanced][Conservative]

The Yureka Thermal Control is an android application written by me for rooted users of YU Yureka+/Yureka, this app gives you the ability to change the thermal configuration of your device. This will help the users to switch according to their requirements, I consider this a very useful application for all Yureka users since no one is satisfied with the performance to heat ratio.

The Yureka Thermal Control has four different settings explained below, if you use this app, make sure to test for minimum 12 hours before saying anything, you cannot judge anything just by 1 hour of usage. Below is the explanation of the available settings -

1. Gaming -
Using the gaming thermal config will help gamers and heavy users, this option is meant for those who don't like cores turning off quickly even with mild heat. With this config, cores will not be hotplugged easily, cores will start hotplugging only when cpu temperatures are above 56-58 range, hence gamers and heavy users won't face any lags with extended usage.

2. Balanced -
This is the thermal config which comes inbuilt with my builds of RR Rom, this is a precisely tweaked version of the stock Yureka thermal config. The stock config only turns off cores when device heats, in addition to that this config will also ramp down cpu and gpu frequency by one step. This helps in further reduction of heat with mild battery backup improvement.

3. Conservative -
The conservative thermal config is meant for those users who don't use many heavy applications on their device, this config is slightly more aggressive in terms of throttling and hotplugging compared to the balanced config. This config controls heating to a great extent at the cost of mild performance drop which is only noticeable in heavy games.

4. Ultimate -
The ultimate thermal config is meant for those who have light usage like internet messaging or browsing the web and basic phone operations. This config will control heat generation most aggressively at the cost of performance drop. Since throttling and hotplugging is fastest with this config, battery backup will also be increased with this config.

Compatibility -
Yureka thermal control is only for rooted users.
Tested on lollipop and marshmallow roms.
Don't try this on other devices.

Instructions -
Install the yureka thermal control application
Select the desired configuration
Press apply button
Reboot device

Important -
This app requires root permissions and will replace your /system/etc/thermal-engine.conf, If you want to verify which thermal config you are using, find a file named thermal in your internal sdcard and open it as text, your current thermal config status will be written there.

weird LTE issue

I recently flashed TWRP and Mr Wonderful's 6.0.1 PE1 rooted ROM and after several hours my apps stopped being able to access the Internet on LTE. I can browse the Web, make calls, send texts on LTE, but no apps can connect on LTE. If I switch to 3G they work fine.

Please Help.

WiFi won't turn on with Cyanogenmod 13

Hi guys, I've already solved this issue but couldn't find any info on it while it was going on, so wanted to share what happened and how to fix it, just in case someone else runs into this. I think this is the most appropriate section to post, but if not, please feel free to move it, mods.

The problem was this: WiFi suddenly stopped working on my rom. It just straight up wouldn't turn on. Pressing the wireless icon in the launcher did nothing, and from the settings menu I'd see the "to see available networks, turn Wi-Fi on" message, even if I turned it on. Coming out of that screen and going back in would show the WiFi was still turned off. Reboots didn't work, uninstalling suspect apps didn't work. I was ready to wipe & reinstall the rom.

The solution is this: I then had what I thought was a really dumb idea. Try changing the WiFi frequency band. It worked. I'll explain what I did step by step;

Long press the WiFi button in your notifications bar, or go to Settings>WiFi
Press the menu button (either the menu key on your phone, or the three dots at the top left of the screen) and select 'Advanced'
Tap on 'Wi-Fi frequency band', and change it from automatic to '5 GHz only' (it may be your WiFi is on the 2.4 Ghz band. I'll come to that)
Reboot your phone
If your WiFi is on the 5GHz band, and your issue was the same as mine, it will now connect to the network and you'll have internet (you may need to turn WiFi on, first)
If it didn't, repeat the steps above, but this time choose '2.4GHz only' instead of 5.
Hopefully you'll now be online again. If you like, you can now change the frequency band setting to automatic again, and the WiFi should work just like it was before.

I really hope this can help some folks who might experience this in the future. It was such a weird issue, and it's such a simple yet obscure fix. With any luck this'll prevent any unneeded wipes.

White Lines across my smart phone screen

One morning I woke up and the bottom half of my Samsung galaxy avant (SM-G386T) had a grid of white lines going across it. First time I restarted my phone it went away.

But they keep coming back and now it's more permanent, Sometimes it goes away briefly but they come back. I tried factory resetting. That worked the first time for a few hours but then it came back. and I tried it again and 2nd time there white lines where there during the factory reset.

The lines even show when I turn the phone off and charge the phone. So I believe this means it is w hardware issue

I tried taking the back planel of the phone off. I disconnected and reconnected the lcd connector latch on the left side. But the problem still persists. I haven't pulled up the screen with a suction cup. So Idk if there is a cable that could be loose on the front end or not. But Idk want to go buy suctions cup if I dont need to you.

Should note that I do have a good sturdy rubber case on my phone. but it has hit the floor a few good times.

One other thing that seems to aggravate or sometimes even make the lines go away is putting my phone to sleep and waking it up repeatedly or adjusting my brightness to max.

What do you guys think? is this fixable or do I need to replace the lcd screen.
